The Prayer Chalice is a visible sign to encourage prayers for "the Master of the Vineyard to send laborers to the Harvest" and to encourage young people to answer His call to devote their lives to serving God through a Vocation to the Priesthood or Religious Life.
This program is open to all members of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, both families and individuals.
How the Program Works
Each Saturday/Sunday (at rotating Masses), the Prayer Chalice, which has been consecrated, will be presented to the participant who will place the Chalice in a safe and prominent place in their home, e.g. dining room table, mantle, etc. Participants will select a time of day to pray for vocations. A Prayer Chalice for Vocations Kit which includes a prayer book, rosary booklet and Vocation Prayer Card will also be provided. You may also use your own favorite prayers. Complete instructions are included in the Prayer Chalice for Vocations Kit.
How to Participate
This program has been conducted in many parishes throughout the country and in this diocese. St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish began this program on October 25, 2009 and continue it until June 19, 2010.
If you would like to participate, please complete the form below. You will be contacted as to which weekend you will receive the Prayer Vocation Chalice Kit.
Each family/individual scheduled for the current week needs to arrive at least 15 minutes before their assigned Mass and check in with the head usher.
Return the Prayer Vocation Chalice Kit to the gift table in the church the following Saturday by 4:30 p.m. or to the Parish Business Office on Friday by 4:30 p.m.
Please pray for all seminarians and those who are discerning their call to religious life.
If you have any questions about this program, please call Jane Liang.
