The Twelve-Step Recovery Bible Study is a study of he Twelve Steps as developed for Alcoholics Anonymous. The AA Steps recognize a Higher Power, to be understood in accordance with one's faith or beliefs. In the Twelve-Step Recovery Bible Study, the Higher Power is identified as Jesus Christ and each step is studied in the light of Jesus's teaching as recorded in the New Testament of the Bible. The book to be used is Serenity, a Companion for Twelve Step Recovery by Dr. Robert Hemfelt and Dr. Richard Fowler. The study invites all persons affected by any type of addiction - alcohol, drugs, food, money, smoking, etc., as well as persons whose loved ones are affected. Time and frequency of the meetings are determined by participants. Location will be in one of the available parish meeting rooms but is not published for reasons of confidentiality for the participants.
