Consoling & Grief Support

Seton has a well deserved reputation for consoling those who are trying to deal with the death of a loved one or facing difficult life issues.

The Friends of the Bereaved extends compassion and support to parish families who have lost a loved one.  They provide food and serve at funeral receptions.  They also continue to follow up with families needing  support.

New Day Grief Support is a nine-week grief support group for adults.  New sessions start several times a year.

The Prayer Quilt Ministry and the Shawl Ministry stitch love and prayers into comforting gifts of warmth.

We have very special people who are there to lend a shoulder and help guide you through a difficult times in your life.  If you are experiencing the loss of  a spouse or child, the loss of a job, facing a illness, retirement, or life changes, are hospitalized or shut-in, or experiencing difficulties in your marriage or with you child or teen, you may benefit from talking to a Stephen Minister.  Stephen Ministry equips lay-people to provide distinctly Christian, confidential, one-to-one care.

Each year on All Souls Day we hold a special service honoring those who have died.  You are invited to bring a picture of your loved on to place on the altar.  The Friends of the Bereaved hold a reception afterwards for all to gather and remember their loved ones.
